Hi there
Trying to run a Master from Final Cut Studio TO a PDW-F330 camera. I want to end up with an XDCAM HD 35Mbps VBR master disk of a 52 min programme using Sony's XDCAM Transfer software. Has anybody tried this? And are there any considerations to bear in mind before getting into this? Any comments would be greatly appreciated? Regards

This is like answering my own question
However, 'uptdate' is merely updating the file management of the card. Shouldn't effect clips. Cheers, Mal

No, it's not possible to read a disc that contains MPEG-HD422 or IMX50 in a PDW-F30. Also the deck can't be upgraded to do that. You will need a PDW-HD1500 or PDW-F1600 deck to do this.

Does anyone know if it is possible to upgrade the PDW-F30 XDCAM HD deck to read disks recorded at 50Mbps?
I've tried the Sony site but can't find anything like this. I suspect it can't be done but any ideas or answers welcome. Thanks Luke

Damn, I didn't know you were on holiday so near to my place. Frankfurt is only a 4 hours drive from my home. Yeah, it's quite snowy out here in Europe!
I was actually only wondering what happened to the old forum. Thanks and enjoy your flight back home (please take some snow and ice with you). ![]() Cheers!

Hi
I'm without my camera at the moment - hoping someone will opt in with the correct setting (flicker?) in the menu that has to be selected as "off'. Cheers, Mal

Hi Ivan
I'm still on holiday in Europe (of all places), Frankfurt at the moment but retuning home tomorrow. I'll try and recover as much as I can of the old forum - problem is it's not compatible with the new system. Let me know what topics you would like to include, happy to oblige. Nice to see an end to winter over here (as it snows outside) ![]() Cheers, Mal

video recording looks great under several lighting conditions (arc and tungsten) at 1080p or 720p - BUT the video pulsates... meaning a slight variation or a red tinted flash every second.
black backgrounds (it could be doing it in daylight because you might not be able to see it) last shoot 1080p30 - head n shoulders - 2000 watts tungsten through Chimera softboxes. camera running on battery - Sennheiser lav microphone any clues? thomas
