Check out this guy in the UK, he is an expert on these cameras and has done many tests.

Alistair Chapman, speaks a lot of sense when he says....
"For me, my requirements are a neutral look, not over corrected or too vivid, but retaining a pleasing contrast range". I always tell our customers that umless you are looking for a specific look for a specific shoot then ensure all your settings are middle of the road. i.e. do not allow highlights to blow out and similarly do not crush blacks. What is lost in camera can never be recovered! Be carefull when adjusting colour matrix or saturation, it is very easy to produce illegal colours which will subsequently be rejected by the broadcaster. A rule of thumb is to reduce detail, as most cameras are somewhat overcooked - the PDW-700 being a prime example. Lower the detail and you also reduce compression artefacts. If you need a specific look it can always be done in post if the material has not been excessively corrected in camera. i.e. Play it safe, and if you must make adjustments in camera then carefully monitor your results on a decent size high quality monitor - not a low res 9" field monitor! Cheers, Clive
